Dale Evers Design Studio (a local-ish color post)

My wife and I spent some time out of town at the end of July and beginning of August. Not pleasure trips, but we did do some casual strolling around town in the places we were. So there we were walking down the street in Paso Robles when we came across this:
And this:
While we were looking at the sculptures and I took pictures, a guy in the street fussing over a boat says, "You can go in if you want." And we realized it wasn't just street art... I mean, it was street art, and there is a lot of street art in Paso Robles, so we really didn't think anything about it, but it wasn't just street art in this case, because there was a whole gallery right there, which we hadn't noticed because we'd been distracted by the street art. So we went in, and here are some things we saw:

This one (below) was possibly my favorite piece:
But the sculptor, Dale Evers, named this one (below) as his favorite, though he did admit that it might be because it was his latest piece, and he tends to like best whatever he just finished. So...
The seafood taco!

Just a few more examples of his work:

So go by and check out the website! There's plenty on there not pictured here. And, you know, if you're in the market for some fine home sculptures...

Lies Writers Tell... To Other Writers (Part One) (an IWM post)

Being a writer's a tough gig. Okay, no, wait: Being a published writer is a tough gig. It's the difference between sitting around in your house and playing guitar merely for your own pleasure – or, maybe, the pleasure of a few friends – and playing on stage in front of an audience. An audience which may or may not have actual people in it and an audience which may or may not even be listening. So you go up on stage and play your heart out and no one responds and you don't really have any idea of how good you were. It's a tough gig.

Because it's so tough, we've come up with little lies to tell ourselves to make the seeming rejection less hurtful, and these lies would be okay if we only told them to ourselves...

And that's your teaser. You'll have to hop right over to Indie Writers Monthly to find out what we do with these lies and what they have to do with math. Copernicus and Galileo put in guest appearances as well. So click the link for the post.

BUT!
Don't forget that we are also accepting your submissions of Time Travel stories for our first ever annual!
