We were driving to Chicago earlier this month, right around sunrise. There was a low line of fog on the horizon and the road sloped down slightly.
"I like to pretend that the fog is water and we're on the coast," I told Middle, and said that if you look at it in the right way you can imagine that instead of just a featureless plain, there is a vast harbor of deep water leading out to the ocean.
She agreed.
All of this is to say: I'm jealous you get to drive along the coast. Great pictures.
The west coast looks so much different than here on the east coast. The east is so flat, at least here in the Carolinas.
ReplyDeleteJKIR,F!: My wife was recently out there in your part of the country and that's what she said. And something about the lack of character...
DeleteNice photos.
ReplyDeleteSheena: Thanks!

Briane: We get that, too, fog down in the valleys. It's cool. But it is pretty great to get to drive down the coast.
DeleteNice scenery. The smoke one is especially striking.
ReplyDeleteJeanne: Yep. And then we drove through it.
