California Missions

Skipping past the history lesson, I'll just say that the California missions are some of the most significant historical/archaeological/architectural sites in California. In some ways, the history of the mission is the history of California, and the four largest cities in the state grew up around four of the 21 missions. They're also responsible for there being a wine industry in California and, therefore, the United States. They're responsible for a lot of other things, too, not all of them good.

My wife and I have plans to visit all of the mission sites; so far, we've visited five of the 21, three of them back around the beginning of August. Here are some pictures from those visits. Without labels or anything. Sorry. No, I'm not. If you're really curious, you can look up the missions and see if you can match my pictures to the appropriate one. Sounds like fun, right!

Angels Unbound: Samael (an a-to-z post)

Samael
No one knows how many Death angels there are, no one but the Father. Mostly, they don't reveal themselves except to those whom they are taking. But Samael is the "Severity of God" and an Archangel (though not the Archangel of Death), and everyone knows what he's about. It was Samael who waited to take Isaac once Abraham had plunged his dagger into Isaac's chest, and he was not completely pleased when given the Command to stay Abraham's hand. Also, he has a history with Lilith. There are whispers...

Angels Unbound: Cassiel (an a-to-z post)

Cassiel
When the Father first made man, He set some Angels to watch them. Not watch over them, just watch them. He told them to observe. Cassiel is the Archangel over the Observers. Through the millennia, he has been drawn to those who stand alone and those who rule. It is he who presides over the death of Kings. By his choice, he watches the pain of man, and stands in solitude to cry over mankind. He has become known as "the one who cries alone." But it's not always alone...

Angels Unbound: Barachiel (an a-to-z post)

Barachiel
There are things about the seraphim that I would like to tell you, but I'm not going to. At least, I'm not going to tell you yet. Barachiel is one of the four rulers of the seraphim and an Archangel among them. He is also in charge of the Guardian Angels, those who come to the aid of humans. He is the Angel of last resort, the final Guardian when all others have failed or were unavailable. Barachiel is the Lightning of God.

"Barachiel" is available today for FREE! Make sure you pick up your copy.
