All Children

All children believe in feeding the hungry.

All children believe in taking care of the sick.

All children believe in clothing the poor.

All children believe in providing homes for the homeless.

All children believe in protecting the Earth.

All children want to save the animals. Especially the cute, furry ones. (Okay, maybe not all children want to save all the bugs, but, still...)

All children believe in the concept of sharing (especially when it means that someone else is going to share with them, but they also believe that they should share even when they don't want to).

I guess this means that all children are liberals.

Matthew 18:3 "Truly, I tell you," he said, "unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

Little Jimmy, stepping forward: "I-I-I want chocolate water in the drinking fountains and, and, and bed time will be 10 o'clock instead of 9 o'clock cuz I'm not tired and 9 is for babies."
(Elementary school auditorium erupts in applause)

Ted Cruz: Well, now actually, Jimmy, there's a good reason for that 9 o'clock bedtime. Lemme tell you all a story about...
(Audience begins booing loudly, audio unintelligible)

    1. ABftS: Now I wish Invader Zim had still been around for the election cycle, because I can totally see that as a Zim plot.

  2. Try telling that to the Republicans who claim that Jesus was a capitalist. They always seem to forget that he threw moneylenders out of temples and preached about caring for those weaker than you.

  3. Makes one wonder at what point some children stop believing these things, and why.

    1. RG: Because parents teach them not to help people, basically.
For a while, when my kids were young, I tried to have a few dollars on me to give to people, because I didn't want my kids to have me setting an example of not helping the homeless.
Of course, that changed when THEY always wanted to spend the money on toys, at which point I quit carrying money again.
      heh

  4. Excellent points, Andrew. Children are innocent until they hear their parents or other adults arguing or commenting on different issues or putting 'others' down. And once in school, this is compounded by their peers who also listen to what their parents say.
