I adored the Farseer Trilogy but the Soldier Son Trilogy did nothing for me even though I slogged my way through all three books.mshatchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06308916014310536449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-10371333058208506852015-11-28T13:19:51.957-08:002015-11-28T13:19:51.957-08:00Veronica: All of the cosmic stuff is actually pret...Veronica: All of the cosmic stuff is actually pretty well based on real science. And, how disappointing for the series to end in such mystifying circumstances.

When are you going to re-read all the Narnia books? I want your take on them. This thing happened that caused something inexplicable, even to the author, evidently, and, thus, they were able to save the universe.Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-60821111637741428502015-11-27T17:41:13.398-08:002015-11-27T17:41:13.398-08:00Well, I won't be picking this one up.
Interes...Well, I won't be picking this one up.

Interesting that you objected to them saving the universe by accident. I remember the tagline to Star Wars: "They were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Naturally, they became heroes."

Seems like the bigger objection is that the scope changed all of a sudden, like the author thought "this has to be bigger," and without any preamble just altered the focus. If he'd built up to that over the four previous books, it might not matter so much.Brianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01616494058636881575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-25523535971171774082015-11-27T14:10:46.657-08:002015-11-27T14:10:46.657-08:00Jeanne: It does stink.
