Don't get me started on where we just moved from. I'd like to fight them, but my wife doesn't like that kind of stuff, so I'm (probably) just gonna let it drop, but it galls me so much.

Michael: I just put in our order for season 3, and I'm sure we'll watch at least a few episodes on Christmas day after they open it up. Can't wait. Honestly, it's really difficult to wait to get the seasons for them for Christmas. I -almost- bought season 3 when it came out, but I talked myself into waiting for Christmas. You have to respect the traditions (well, some of them, anyway).Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-81944880079410271242011-12-06T13:02:48.227-08:002011-12-06T13:02:48.227-08:00I am on season 3 right now. I own seasons one and two on blu-ray and have watched them multiple times to try and infect others into sharing my love for these cartoons.Michael Offutt, Phantom Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10557969104886174930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-88967134761716012642011-12-02T21:32:27.638-08:002011-12-02T21:32:27.638-08:00Oh I'm sure I could have if I'd fought it,...Oh I'm sure I could have if I'd fought it, but I was young and stupid and after many vicious phone conversations I figured it wasn't worth the fight to get $250 back, or whatever it was at that point. Maybe even less than that, haha. I lived in the ghetto. Given, whatever amount it was would have helped us, but fighting a landlord in Colorado from Oregon would have gotten pricey, as it was.

I think I only ever got back a full deposit from one apartment I rented. The rest were all partials, at least. Just that first one got us. Booooo! I learned a little more each time we moved, until I was photographing every little thing, documenting every chip in the paint or missing carpet fiber, getting every. single. little. thing in writing and giving notice by registered mail. Sigh. I'm so happy to own now!Shannon Lawrencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00934641808195675935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-78765955456756836442011-12-02T11:45:49.785-08:002011-12-02T11:45:49.785-08:00Daniel: Well, I've seen her standing next to a...Daniel: Well, I've seen her standing next to a number of Shepherds, and she looks almost identical down to the way in which we stands. The only real difference is the ears. I've also seen her next to a beagle, and there's no resemblence at all. However, my statement comes from the experts not my own judgement.

Shannon: You know, you probably could have gotten your deposit back if you'd tried. Apartment complexes really do everything they can to not have to give anything back, and they will use any reasoning. Most of it is illegal. I don't know a single person that moved away from our old complex that got their deposit back. Mostly, though, it's just too much trouble and would cost as much in legal fees to force them to fork it over, which they know.

Juliana: It made me cry, too.

I have more pics. I'm sure more will make it onto the site.

I've really only ever had rescue dogs of some sort or other my whole life, even if they didn't all actually come from a shelter (one actually came from a bag in a creek where someone had tried drown the puppy (she was a great dog that my parents had well after I moved out (14 or 15 years old when she finally passed)).Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-35052406253433053632011-12-02T07:17:17.164-08:002011-12-02T07:17:17.164-08:00"I caught him on the couch cuddling with her ..."I caught him on the couch cuddling with her a few days after we got her saying, "I can't believe we have a dog," over and over to himself." -That about made me cry it was so darn cute.

You definitely need to post more pictures.

I love dogs and shelter dogs definitely seem to be the best. Thing is, we pulled it off without a hitch. But when we went to move out, they told us we had a cat. We argued. They insisted. We were 18 and had moved out of state, so asked my husband's dad to speak with them (we'd only briefly had the cat, and he'd only been in the apartment a couple times, because we had FIL keep him). The owner told FIL "We saw the cat; it's black with a white face." What did FIL say? "No it isn't, it's an orange tabby."

Yeah, the people ABOVE us had several cats, including a black one with a white face. They had the wrong darned apartment. We'd hear them running around, playing, jumping off things all the time. And some dude on the upper floor would let out his massive dog to go to the bathroom, but wouldn't go with it, so he couldn't get caught with it. Haha.

Sigh, we lost our deposit. Wish they'd told us that before I cleaned it from top to bottom until it shone. ;-p

Hahaha at "yo quiero bratwurst."

Never settle!Shannon Lawrencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00934641808195675935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-50088603801132120632011-11-30T18:13:24.418-08:002011-11-30T18:13:24.418-08:00Cute story! It's hard not to be be cute when you have such material to work with :)

Alex: We're very glad we were finally able to get a dog.
I could probably tell other stories about students; in fact, at some point, I will.
heh

Rusty: Our dog hasn't had an issue with many of the non-cute things.
Well, except for that night I fed her a bunch of fat scraps from some grilled pork ribs. Kind of went right through her.
And can I just say: needy is way better than ultra-hyper. I've had both.

Dr. Grumpy: I'll have to ask her.

M.J: I'm so glad :) More dog stuff to come.

Michael: My dog got spend Thanksgiving day getting associated with my father-in-law's weenie dogs. She had a great time with them.

My kids and I love Clone Wars. It's one of the things we do together every Christmas. We own seasons 1 & 2, which they got the previous 2 Christmases, and they will get season 3 this Christmas. We'll spend break and part of January watching them all. It's a great show.

Briane: Kids should get to have a dog if they want one. It was kind of breaking my heart that my son wasn't getting to have one. I grew up with dogs around most of my life, so it was really hard for me to see him wanting one so badly yet not getting to have one.

Yes, I'm doing all the work. It's not so bad. She's a great dog, and it's not feeling like a chore.

Ooh! Now, I'm kind of scared... I'm working on a book for my next review, right now, but I plan on yours being after that. Unless someone else sends me a physical book first. Physical books will always win over e-books with me, since I my Kindle is my computer, and it's a desk top so not to friendly to drag to bed with me.

And I left you a comment about that other thing.Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-24457617965623740252011-11-30T12:36:34.766-08:002011-11-30T12:36:34.766-08:00Excellent story. Then again, nobody believes me, anyway.

"Oh, it's a really smart cat. We taught it that."

Awesome.

I liked the moral, too.

On the other hand, I am not crazy about dogs. I like dogs the way I like vegetables: they're okay for other people, but I'd rather not have them around me most of the time. I'm glad you got your kid a dog; when I was a kid we had dogs and I loved them and all kids who want a dog should have a dog, even if the parents end up doing all the work. (Are you doing all the work?)

Hey, Andrew: your book is second in line for my Indie Book Review.

And also: Why not say Merry Christmas to Mateo and Mchale and let me know about it and I'll maybe give you $20? He's very friendly as well as overweight.

Out of curiosity...I know you love Star Wars (hence it pops up in practically all of your blog posts in some form or another--like the title of this one)...have you watched the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network?

It's one of my favorite shows. I own the first three seasons on blu-ray and the animation is top-notch. I don't really care that the storylines may or may not mesh with the movies. I'm getting to see so much of the extended universe like the game center of Coruscant, Monolith Rock, Mandalore, etc.Michael Offutt, Phantom Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10557969104886174930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-69236775028283706332011-11-29T19:22:38.463-08:002011-11-29T19:22:38.463-08:00This is the best blog I've read all day.
