These men, with their imaginations were an inspiration to budding scientists. It's what we geeks read while young. When we grew up and got funding, we were able to make imagination into reality. Science requires creativity and imagination. One must imagine an outcome and then find a way to get to that outcome. Often new technology is built along the way so that these outcomes can be tested and realized. Without imagination we'd still be sitting in caves freezing to death.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01681799401614263953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-19368752538784262362012-04-15T09:34:06.958-07:002012-04-15T09:34:06.958-07:00There are invisible braces?

Very impressed with your research during this series.

As an aside, I was reading about armor and learned that the people designing the first space suits for NASA actually traveled to London to study some of the medieval armor, because it was made so precisely to fit it's intended wearer, and because the articulated pieces meshed together so well. Although it's amazing to think that one man's impossible dream became the reason for an almost equally impossible reality, it's also in some wonderful way not that surprising to hear that a handful of guys were so inspired by a favorite story that they went out and changed the course of history.
