It's politically sensible in the short term. But the Hamilton-Jefferson debates in the play are the same ones we're still having and will always have. Federalism vs. Republicanism is as American as racism. Both sides, if they know their history, know their champion. The duel is the only reason anybody really remembers Burr. The Armchair Squidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13509001761075530940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-17886237101504742682018-07-20T12:55:10.021-07:002018-07-20T12:55:10.021-07:00Maybe we need to bring back dueling. You just give them the basis for being able to do that.
Conservatives have not tried to do that. Ever. They firmly believe in indoctrination, so we've arrived at a place full of zealots on the Right and people who don't have firm beliefs on the Left.
It's hard to fight against that.Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-63604268153286854902018-07-20T10:42:52.939-07:002018-07-20T10:42:52.939-07:00Right after the election, students would ask me wh...Right after the election, students would ask me who I voted for. Usually, I say nothing, as I don't want to bring my politics in school. But I acknowledged pretty vehemently how I'd never voted for Donald the Terrible.

At this point, we do need to be vocal. Those that would unfollow you based on your political leanings aren't worth our time or effort anymore. So many romance writers have gotten very vocal as to being part of the #resistance. It's time.

Have you seen the 10 steps to genocide? Some people devised a list. Can you guess what step we're on? 7. 7!!! (Although, you could argue 8 is here, too.) I agree. If you're not speaking out, you're condoning the atrocities that are happening.

Oh, and here's a link to the list: https://rightsinfo.org/ten-stages-of-genocide/Liz A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16531953467834426316noreply@blogger.com
