In fine Greek tragedy fashion, not by quite the means you'd want but he does bring balance by becoming Sith, then destroying it from within.<br /><br />In considering the Mortis story, I've given a lot of thought to the power of the light side: how it manifests itself in the galaxy far, far away as well as our own. The dark side is nearly always louder and more obvious. But there are plenty of talented people in the world who devote themselves to altruistic endeavors - teaching, nursing, volunteering, firefighting - rather than spending all of their time in pursuit of money and power for their own sake. I think of that Fred Rodgers quote about "looking for the helpers" when something terrible happens. The light side is at work and it is powerful.
