You would, too, if you'd ever seen groups of these sitting together, their heads all hunched down. But I like your idea, and I will have to come back to it.Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-66929799640368594652016-08-17T16:32:26.997-07:002016-08-17T16:32:26.997-07:00I went and looked it up to read about it on Wikipe...I went and looked it up to read about it on Wikipedia; I'm trying to learn 1 new thing a day. The one you pictured here suffers more from extinction than any other kind of heron, because these birds tend to colonize small islands without predators on them. While that sounds like it might be ideal for survival, they then eventually evolve into flightlessness.

So apparently having predators around is necessary to survival, if not of an individual, of the species.

Imagine if you invented a character called "Night Heron," who would go and prey on certain individual humans in order to improve the species and keep it alive. I think someone like that ought to make an appearance in the tea kettle world.Brianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01616494058636881575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658526372996117205.post-27654889808196240432016-08-17T13:17:51.947-07:002016-08-17T13:17:51.947-07:00I guess he's the Day Heron right now :P.I guess he's the Day Heron right now :P.J E Oneilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09780097298061829471noreply@blogger.com
